The survey interviewed 2,000 consumers from the United States, 1,000 interviewees from the United Kingdom and 2,000 respondents from China. It also surveyed representatives from 30 sharing economy companies.
The surveyed urban unemployment rate was first introduced in 2014 to better reflect the job market and serve as a supplement to the registered urban unemployment rate compiled by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security.
The survey was made in anticipation of next year's 30th anniversary of China-ASEAN dialogue relations. It was conducted from July 28 to Sept 23 among 1,000 respondents from the social elite, officials, academia, business community, general society and students from ASEAN member countries. All the respondents were over 20 years old.
The surveyed unemployment rate in urban areas stood at 5.9 percent in March, down 0.3 percentage points from the previous month.
